Epicore Biosystems, Inc. has developed a proprietary wearable microfluidic platform that is ‘skin-like’ and capable of analyzing small droplets of sweat for proteomics, inflammatory markers, hydration, and health biomarkers to enable personalized management of health, performance and nutrition. Epicore's wearable sensing technology is based on over two decades of microfluidics and soft materials research by Prof. John Rogers and Dr. Roozbeh Ghaffari at Northwestern University's Querrey-Simpson Institute for Biolectronics.
Epicore Biosystems recently signed a partnership with a leading Fortune 100 global brand to commercialize the first-ever, single-use sweat analytics system for athletes. The company’s sweat microfluidic platform has been deployed with professional sports teams (NBA, NFL, and MLB), military research labs, and across multiple clinical study programs, including stroke, skin health, stress, fatigue, and kidney health.
